the (lovely) last straw

the idea of taking another go

at sock knitting was already forming in the recesses of my mind,

but it was serenity 20 by zen yarn garden

(‘black pearl’ is what i chose to use)

that tipped me over the edge into actually casting on.

  wow! (and yeehaw! and whoopee!)

semi-solid (my favorite), nylon for durability, superwash merino for ease of care

and cashmere.  yup, cashmere for my tired, kid chasing feet.

hard to say no to that combo.

truth is, i didn’t really even try to say no.

what i did do was ask not one, but two sock knitting friends

to ‘please, please, pretty please’ go over the pattern i chose this time around

to be sure nothing struck them as a hurdle i might not make it over.

and ‘pretty little things’ by jenjoyce design got two thumbs up!

no red flags, no quirky construction that might derail me.

my friends even offered to kal along with me.

so i wouldn’t be tempted to quietly ditch out.

i have good friends

even if they do know me a little too well. ha.
