…when i over-multitask.
the plan was get the 3 kids settled around the kitchen island eating lunch
then sprint down to the cellar (dirty laundry in tow)
move the wet to dry and the dirty to wash
then jog back up for serving 2nds.
it’s all very logical, no?
except i didn’t factor in the reality
that kids are not just laundry or dishes that will sit and wait for me to get to them.
i know this, but i forgot.
so, returning to ground level feeling very pleased with myself,
for having managed to chip away at the chores while they were all still awake,
i found this:
it’s a 7 layer pb&j cracker sandwich.
i’d read them a book
where there’s this mouse
whose speciality
is 7 decker sandwiches
(don’t know now what i was thinking).
spare you the photos
of the smeared counter
and the sticky hands
and the co-mingled pb & j.
i’m sure you can
imagine.
but, the clothes were very clean
and more importantly
the kids were oh, so happy.
‘dry’ taken from 17:1 of proverbs.
this is exactly what my kids would do… don’t we love them?
Hey – they fed themselves! Way to go!! Woo Hoo for them! Did they make one for you as well? Yummy! Tell them to try adding potato chips next time – I love those in PB&Js!
